Should be a good day. Get booked on people

  4. Nice one looking good should be a good 1.

  5. I'll be there, nice to have something local to me.

Got a question about the track though. Done it a couple of times before on open pit sessions so how will it be run on the day?

Also will there be much on for family and kids on the day?

The track will be run in 20min sessions. 3 groups of cars, Novice, Intermediate and Expert. First session is 9am. Drivers briefing will be at 8.30am.

  7. The track will be put into 3 groups, novice intermediate and experienced, then there will be 6 sessions for each , first session for each group will have a 3 lap sighting lap , which is to show you the track and to show you entry and exit of the pit lane for safety. Hope this helps

3 groups of 6 x 20 min sessions = 18 x 20mins + minimum change over time of 5 minutes per session = 7.5 hours total track time as per the Lancs booking forms

Plus marshalls need a feed at dinner time

Plus the additional 2 x 20 minute XR Challenge races

Will the XR lot have warm up laps and practise sessions on the day ?

Plus 40 + extra cars and crews in the pits

Lets hope there are no issues on track as per National Day at Rockingham otherwise it will be a late night if everyone is to get their allocated track time

Maybe open pitlane (as Anglesey usually runs anyway on track days ?) would be a better idea - just a thought

  9. So far no planning issues have arisen we tried to cover issues from other shows that have arisen so we have a smooth running day, we had to consider all these before we accepted the xr challenge, as they approached us we had full say so to say no to them if we had any doubts as to whether it would work on the day , we've all been to shows and seen issues etc so we are trying to plan our show that is hopefully trouble free, as for our members needing a break during our shifts, our first vote in the meeting was it will be a long day for us and if you don't gets break tough, if were to busy tough if you don't want to work hard at this we don't want your help with the show!! This is our first show of this scale and type so any advise comments thoughts etc will 100% be listened to and put to the members!!

Richard by marshalls taking a break I am not implying your Group volunteers will not be working hard.

What I mean is that the "Official" Track Marshalls who are most likely trained and competent in what can be considered their "job" will most certainly want / need a break for dinner

Those same marshalls will also no doubt be the same marshalls for the XR "races" so to have 18 x 20 minute track sessions and 2 x 20 minute races + warm up, practise and grid formations x 2 so will eat into the overall track time big time

Please consider Open Pitlane as a possible solution so as to give maximum track time for all concerned

XR Challenge are paying for their own set of marshals along with additional fire & medical cover, race recovery, control etc.

One of the benefits of the race is that instead of just one or two recovery vehicles as at a track day, we get every corner covered as per a normal race day so recovery of cars enbedded in a trap say is done far quicker - less time lost for the sessions

  12. Sorry I thought you meant our chaps, and they better work hard lol, I didn't take it that you were saying they wouldn't , because of knowing about the official marshals etc I presumed!! Criticism before the event and advise etc is something we need a lot of as it will make they day better for everyone!!

  13. Richard or Scar, what time are you allowed to camp from and is it payable on the day please

    Thanks
    :)

    Hi Sinbad,

Camping on the Saturday is available from 5pm onwards. There's a Bike meet on the Saturday and they will be leaving from aprox 4pm onwards, so we have access from 5pm.

There are Ladies and Gents (seperate) shower blocks, seperate male & female toilet blocks.

The site also has water stand pipes for the concours boys (and concours will be close by to them to save the walk), electric hook up for traders (and those using camper vans over night). The Bar in the Paddock area will also be open for beers in the evening (and during the Sunday) for those camping.

There is loads of hard standing. Concours & traders will be on the hard standing and the majority of the local group car clubs will also be on the hard standing area. There is a couple of sections of grassed area that we will also use should it be nescessary.

Plenty of good spectator viewing points for the track and the views from the track out across the Irish Sea and to the Snowdownian mountains is pretty spectacular.

We have 2 confirmed cars running Fast Passenger Rides for us with a 3rd awaiting confirmation. Themain one will be the car featured in our flyer (see below). Gwendaff Evans works Ford Escort Maxi. This is one of only 7 cars in the world. We're also hoping to have anoher works car which is currently being developed, as I said, just waiting confirmation from them on it.

Passenger rides are in aid of the Air Ambulance.
